Quiet Riot

So I don't typically write a long winded post, and especially on this blog it's more about the art. However, I did want to publicly express how disappointed I am with the state of things lately. Everyone is so complacent and placated by TV and Movies (myself included) that we share this kind of quiet outrage; 'I'm angry about the price of gas or the war or the economy, but I can't do anything about it.' Let's face it entertainment does a great job, we're entertained. We let the world go on outside our doors merrily watching the Office, and our attention spans are so short that, by a month's time, we've forgotten anything was wrong.

It's that impotence that we all feel, a sense of helplessness that has built over the last 8 years. When someone does get angry enough to lash out, it's usually at the people who suffer the same plight. We are quick enough to cut down each other but so timid to voice our concerns and anger, and outrage to the people who actually have the power to do something. Are we so eager to give up our rights, that we allow sanctioned 'free speech zones'? I thought that was a basic right, living in America, land of the free zones. I wonder how long the internet will be in that bubble. Is it too late? Does this post make me unpatriotic; a terrorist? I just think. Maybe that's the problem.
